Clinical Trials

From the first successful human organ transplant in 1954 to the first quadruple transplant of human organs in 2000, the clinical success of BWH has been intimately tied to advancements made by its clinical researchers.

Medical advances arise out of a partnership between physician scientists, who study ways to improve health and lessen the burden of disease, and the patient or volunteer, without whom medical progress would cease.

Physicians at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, one of Harvard Medical School’s most prestigious teaching hospitals, conduct hundreds of important clinical studies in virtually every therapeutic area.

The Center for Clinical Investigation (CCI) is the home for clinical research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The CCI interfaces with Harvard Catalyst to provide expanded resources to investigators at all Harvard-affiliated institutions.
